"Royton Square is now fully let, which reflects the strength of the centre and the demand we are seeing from operators. We are continuing to improve the food and beverage offering at Royton, giving the local community more reasons to visit and to stay. This latest signing adds a distinctive independent operator to the mix and broadens the range of cuisines on site."
LCP UK, part of M Core has confirmed that Royton Square in Greater Manchester is now fully let, following the letting of Unit 5 to a new independent Indian restaurant.
The 1,207 sq.ft unit has been taken on a 10-year lease, bringing the 52,703 sq.ft centre to full occupancy across its 34 retail units. The letting adds to a food and beverage line up that M Core continues to build out as part of its active management of the asset.
Royton Square sits in the centre of Royton, a suburb of Oldham around eight miles northeast of Manchester. The centre is anchored by a Co-operative Food Store and Boyes, sits adjacent to Lidl, and counts Card Factory, Specsavers and Ladbrokes among its national occupiers. It offers free shopper parking and hosts a weekly market in the adjoining Market Square.
The incoming operator, a Royton based business, will open the area's first authentic Indian restaurant, with a kitchen team recruited from Mumbai. An opening is anticipated for mid-July 2026, with a confirmed date to follow.
Rakesh Joshi, Director at LCP UK, part of M Core, said: "Royton Square is now fully let, which reflects the strength of the centre and the demand we are seeing from operators. A spokesperson for the incoming restaurant said: "As residents of Royton, opening here was an obvious decision. The centre already offers a diverse range of cuisines, and we are proud to add authentic Indian dining to that mix, with chefs from Mumbai and high-quality dishes rooted in real flavour. As Royton Square's first authentic Indian restaurant, we want the launch to be a celebration for the whole community, with live entertainment, tastings and opening offers across the day."
Kim Chalkin, Senior Legal Counsel (UK), acted on the legal matters relating to the letting on behalf of the landlord. Richard Webster of Newns Webster was the agent who facilitated on the transaction.
